Project Overview
FAP Power Solutions was contracted to complete the supply, installation, and commissioning of electrical panel accessories and associated systems at a commercial facility located in North York, Ontario. The project focused on ensuring high-quality electrical integration for a critical energy infrastructure upgrade within a commercial setting.
The work was executed with full adherence to the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC) and client-specific safety protocols, resulting in a successful delivery completed on time and within scope.

Scope of Work
Our electrical team handled the project from procurement to final commissioning. The following key components defined the project scope:
- Procurement and Material Management
All materials and components, including cables, conduits, terminals, glands, and fasteners, were sourced according to the approved design and load schedule. Quality control was prioritized, ensuring that all materials were compliant with OESC standards.
To avoid any delays or damage, materials were carefully transported, offloaded, and stored securely on-site prior to installation.
- Panel Installation and Preparation
Main distribution panels (MDPs) were installed at designated locations across the site. The installation included the following steps:
- Secure anchoring using industrial-grade mounting systems
- Precise drilling of gland plates to preserve the NEMA rating of the panels
- Installation of cable glands to protect incoming and outgoing cables while maintaining environmental sealing and mechanical strength
These efforts ensured long-term durability, safety, and operational efficiency.

- Conduit and Cable Work
FMC conduits were supplied and installed to connect all panel components. Our team maintained clean conduit routing with proper bend radii, spacing, and support as per code.
Power and control cables were pulled, dressed, and terminated carefully to maintain electrical performance and system integrity. All cable routes were confirmed against load calculations and approved schematics before installation.
- Unistrut Support and Internal Panel Wiring
Control and auxiliary panels were mounted using Unistrut supports and integrated with the MDPs. Internal wiring was tested and corrected according to the latest functional diagrams.
Every termination was verified for correct phase alignment, secure connections, and labeling accuracy, reducing the potential for future maintenance issues or downtime.

Safety and Compliance
Throughout the project, FAP Power Solutions maintained a strong commitment to health and safety:
- All work followed the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC)
- PPE usage, lockout/tagout procedures, and hazard signage were enforced on-site
- The project adhered to both provincial regulations and client-specific policies
Our safety-first approach helped us avoid incidents and maintain smooth operations during installation.
Project Outcome
The electrical panel installation project was completed on May 17, 2025. All systems were fully commissioned and tested for functional performance. The final delivery was:
- On time
- Within budget
- Fully compliant with all safety and code standards
The system was handed over in a fully operational state. As always, our team remains available for post-installation support, routine maintenance, and future system expansions.
Material Summary
A snapshot of the materials used for the installation:
- Unistrut support
- Cable glands
- Fuses, bolts, and electrical fittings
- Ducting and FMC conduits
All components were selected based on durability, compatibility, and compliance with Canadian safety standards. Total material cost was managed efficiently at $543.40 including overhead.
This project demonstrates FAP Power Solutions’ ability to deliver precision electrical work in a commercial environment. With our comprehensive project management from procurement and installation to testing and compliance we continue to set high standards in safety, quality, and client satisfaction.
